- Dan Barry defeated Tommaso Ciampa after The Grim Reefer interfered and hit Ciampa with a foreign object while the referee was distracted.

Notes from Road To Gold:
Jimmy Jact Cash had been fired by FTW officials earlier in the week, for his inappropriate behavior. However, Cash legally entered the Road To Gold Rumble after attacking the final entrant (Michael Menace) and not allowing him to enter the Rumble. Cash took his spot and entered the Rumble. Cash had found a loophole in the Road To Gold Rumble Contract that FTW officials had created, which states that the Rumble is an invitational match, and any wrestler is invited to enter, barring they fill the allotted 25 opening slots. Menace was number 25 in the Rumble but never officially entered the ring, therefore Cash was able to take his spot.
Much to fans dismay, Sabu was unable to compete for the Gen-X Championship. Sabu was backstage and present at Road To Gold, however the FTW medical staff could not clear Sabu to wrestle due to severe high blood pressure.
The BQE are the longest reigning FTW Tag Champions, having held the titles for 19 straight months.
